A balanced budget is a HUGE priority - including a True Balanced Budget Amendment
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
would depend on how you define indirect, but have HUGE issues with unions in particular getting involved in campaigns and politics - especially since they have quid pro quo standing with democratic party. Campaign reform, and in particular super-pac needs work.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Punishment should be comparable for the crime.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
No Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Government has over-stepped their bounds by meddling in the free market system and it has resulted in a border-line nanny state. One in which people are getting dependent on the government and have no incentive to search for work.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
The Federal government needs to stay out of education system.. that is a state issue and needs to stay that way -
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Again government regulation is limiting both Job production and energy dependence. We need to Drill for oil - Build the Canada Pipeline, support and develop oil production/imports from Brazil, build more coal power plants, and in particular Nuclear. I'm also in favor of an earned credit on or enabling a short term write off of cost to place wind or solar power on residential houses to lessen dependence on the the energy grid, and prevent black-outs.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Afghanistan was a critical area for us to exert military efforts, and a time table is applicable for the withdrawal but should be based on the ability of the locals to defend themselves not a static time. Also for targeting terrorists outside the official theaters - like Osama Bin Laden - YES - they are terrorists and should be targeted no matter where they are or go.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Only restraints on guns should be based on criminal record, and possibly training for handling. Things that the NRA already are supporting and advocating. Any more is un-constitutional.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Again Obama Care is 100% unconstitutional - to make someone purchase something they don't want or forcibly pay into something they aren't involved in is both wrong and unconstitutional. And support of the law and those ideas are along the lines of impeachable offenses and treason against the constitution for which the President and most politicians are sworn to uphold and defend. I'm VERY big on impeaching those that don't follow/support or go against the constitution !
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
Illegal is illegal - if the parents entered illegally - then the child's citizenship was not earned but stolen - and right should be revoked.. and deported. Both Federal and state/local should be able to act on immigration. As I look at it the Federal government's responsible to defend this country including border security - but they should be enabling/helping state/local officials who are first line of defense.. and know local issues better.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
I have no issues with same sex rights but not marriage. Marriage is Marriage and is between man & woman - Period ! If 2 members of the same sex want to have a union - then it is a union - not a marriage. And local government can pass legislation for rights there-off.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
Yes - individuals are better able to decide and maintain their own retirement, but am more in favor of both some going to support the existing SS plan & enabling another 7% to go to personal plan (preferably as a ROTH)
1. Job Creation - Job # 1 this is done by reducing taxes & regulations 2. Balanced budget amendment to constitution 3. Replacing existing tax code with a 3 step simplified tax code A. 7-7-7mod (like cains' but no tax on food or drugs) B. 5-5-5mod after 25% of national debt paid off C. Elimination of all income tax (bus & Pers) and go with Flat/capped 5%mod sales tax All this is outlined at my "explanation of Platform" at http://turner4pres.info/
